It's that time of year

We are moving into the time of year when rescues and shelters begin doing their fund raising for the upcoming year. Of course we all know the great work they do and on a shoestring budget; do we ever stop to think the hard work they do to raise the money.

A grant writer is a wonderful asset, however unless the director is a grant writer, most rescues and shelters cannot afford a grant writer. This is a very specialized profession and can be equated to a Master’s Degree; the education is so specialized after a Bachelor’s Degree. So this puts most fundraising for these establishments in the hands of people trained in promotions. There is nothing wrong with promotions it is just that a lot of fundraising and work goes into a promotional setting.

All of this comes down to if you can help or are drawn to a specific rescue or shelter, then do offer to help. If you can contribute do so and if you can’t see if there is a way you can support with an in-kind donation. Here are some upcoming events:
