I received the following correspondence from Dieter Drake, Race Director -Tour of the Battenkill, over the weekend. It's all about the 2013 Tour of the Battenkill:
"As many already know, we’re replaced the NRC professional race with the Tour of the Battenkill Challenge gran fondo this year on Sunday, April 14.
Registration is now open here.
The TofB will be using the same resources we already have for the pro race, now for the gran fondo event:
· Police support at all major intersections
· Course marshals
· Pace cars
· Sag support
· Mavic neutral service
· Motorcycle marshals
· Road closures for parts of the course
· Chip timing
· Age groups
· Participants will compete on chip-timed segments of the course for prizes per age group and for overall King & Queen of the Battenkill Championships
Our complete Battenkill event schedule is below:
Sunday, March 24 – BattenSpring Classic – Salem, NY
· 13 mile circuit with 1 dirt section
· Start/finish at the Battenkill Valley Creamery (!)
· A, B, and C races
Sunday, April 7 – Tour of the Battenkill Spring Preview Ride – Cambridge, NY
· Your last chance to preview the 2013 course!
· Mechanical and sag wagon support
· Course maps, cue sheets
