With the arrival of Spring, Easter is coming quickly upon us and Oakland is gearing up for some holiday fun. This coming weekend, the City of Oakland Parks and Recreation (OPR) is hosting its 4th Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The hunt will be held on Saturday, April 3, at the Lake Chabot Golf Course, 11450 Golf Links Road, Oakland (Above Oakland Zoo)
From the event website:
• 8:30am - 12:00noon Onsite Registration: 8:30am-9:25am
• Egg Hunts begin promptly at: 9:30am for kids 7 and older
• 9:45am for kids 6 and younger
(Bring your own basket. Bags provided)
Adult Notes: We know how much fun it is, but egg gathering is for children only!
All eggs are re-used yearly, so please do not take eggs home!
Easter in Oakland is followed by a week of Spring break from school, which may leave parents scrambling for child care coverage. Luckily, the City of Oakland Parks and Recreation is offering Franklin Spring Day Camp.
A day camp, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily, April 5 -9, is being offered at the Franklin Recreation Center for children ages 5-12 at a charge of $70. Parents can register their children and receive more information by speaking with Recreation Center Staff at (510) 238-7741 or by visiting OPR's website.

I'm curious about the re-usable eggs in the egg hunt: the only eggs we use in Easter egg hunt are little chocolate ones, and they get eaten!
