There is no rivalry between the giant "Eat Bulaga" of GMA-7 and the neophyte "It's Showtime" of ABS-CBN, the popular noontime shows in the Philippines today. You read it right, there is no big deal when it comes to popularity surveys, in fact, "Eat Bulaga" hosts Joey De Leon, Vic Sotto and Sen. Tito Sotto did not react when "It's Showtime" garnered a much higher TV rating last year due to the remarkable performance of Anne Curtis and Karylle.
And speaking of Anne Curtis, she joined Robert Tobillo, a self-confessed fan of Joey De Leon, in dancing on "It's Showtime" to the tune of Joey De Leon's composed hit song "Shake It Baby" (or Itaktak Mo in Filipino translation) during Robert's performance in "Copycat" (or KALOKALIKE in Filipino translation) a popular segment of the show featuring some celebrity impersonators, said report was posted on abs-cbnnews.com on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013.
Anne Curtis was joined by her co-hosts Vhong Navarro, Vice Ganda and Karylle to make Robert Tobillo's impersonation funny. After that, they greeted Joey De Leon on national TV just to prove that they have so much respect to him, they also added that Joey De Leon will remain an idol. For some observers, "It's Showtime" hosts are just doing their jobs, according to them, there is no reason for "Eat Bulaga" hosts to fight back because it was just a simple case of admiration to the next "King of Comedy."
