It’s Okay to Eat the Yellow Snow!

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When winter dumps snow on you, make snow ice cream.

Get a big mixing bowl and spoon. Scoop up a heaping mess of snow from a clear spot {no shoveling, snow blowing, or tracks (human or animal) allowed.}

Put an egg in another mixing bowl. Beat it slightly and remove the two white pieces by cutting them away with a spoon. I am referring to the chalazae, the opaque ropes of egg white that hold the yolk in the center of the shell. Getting them out is important because they do not blend and turn hard when cold, leaving nasty lumps in your ice cream.

Beat the egg and blend in 3/8 cup sugar, 3/4-teaspoon vanilla, 1/8 teaspoon salt and 1/2-cup milk. The mixture will be yellow. Add a few drops of food coloring just for fun. Make it really yellow or go for red, green, blue, as if it matters.

Now blend in the snow a few scoops at a time until the consistency is good. Put in bowls; add toppings if desired and EAT IT ALL. It doesn’t keep well. And it is so good, why would there be leftovers?

Ingredients:

1 Egg, beaten

3/8 cup Sugar

3/4 teas. Vanilla

1/8 teas. Salt

1/2 cup Milk

Fresh SNOW!
