As fans suspected, the presence of original "Star Wars" cast Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill in London ahead of the big casting announcement of the new sequel means they will be reprising their iconic roles for the first time since 1983.

StarWars.com announced the full cast today for "Star War: Episode VII," including Anthony Daniels (C3-PO), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) and Kenny Baker (R2-D2). The only major original star missing: Billy Dee Williams, last seen dancing to the "Star Wars" theme on "Dancing With the Stars."

Another returnee: Lawrence Kasdan, who also co-wrote the scripts for "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi."

The new film is set 35 years after "Return of the Jedi."

Here's the press release:

The Star Wars team is thrilled to announce the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.

It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."
