We think you're near Los Angeles

It's Nutts! Yes, but it's tasty and worth roadtrippin' it to

You've gotta hand it to a restaurant with a name you can't forget: It's Nutts. It's just an hour and 40 minutes from our friends in Elkton, Maryland . . . in Titusville, New Jersey. Get out your Mapquest and see it for yourself! It's a pretty drive, too. If you're in Cecil or even northern Harford County, Maryland, well, you're practically there right now. That's to the restaurant, not "nutts". I don't know you that well.

Titusville is near Trenton and serves a very specialized, secret localvore nosh: tomato pies. They're pizzas, but a tad different. They focus on the tomato base, which is made out of whole tomatos, not some sort of paste. Cheese, when a place puts it on, is just a garnish.

Tomato pie is a whole different flavor profile than a pizza loaded down with all works. It's a delicate, crispy snack, fresh with roasted tomato flavor. I hear I'm not alone in thinking it's even better the next day, to fend off the morning after blues. It's Nutts has a Tuesday night special on the pies for $10.

It's Nutts has a very lovely dining room with bright pink walls, BYOB, homemade ice cream, Italian pastas and even comfort food like meatloaf.
