On Labor Day, I was watching the movie, Narnia, the Voyage. And I thought to myself, the costuming in movies such as this one, would be exquisite on dolls. That awesome, powerful feeling, of seeing a good movie; and then have it portrayed on dolls with the costuming from the film, would just be sensational. Though the costuming in this particular film was subtle and not entirely elaborate; after all it is a sea voyage; the costuming portrays so much of each character and captures the essence of the film. It's just so exciting. So what am I going on about? I will explain.
Do you know the feeling of leaving the theater after seeing an action film? You feel exuberant (that's if you liked the film) and that you want to take away something, that would forever remind you of the movie? Besides waiting and owning the DVD. You want something visual you can see everyday, because it will be five to six years until the next movie sequel comes out!
With dolls costumed in the attire of your favorite action movie, Ha! You would be in heaven. Just think, you could touch the fabric; (Not plastic, as on action figures) but real textile material designed to the similar attire and accouterments from the film. With a doll costumed in such a way, it can bring that excitement into your living room, into your home. It's doll movie memorabilia!
Which costuming in films, are you fond of? Inquiring doll collectors, like myself, would like to know!
Gallery: One of the many doll makers out there who is magnificent in making dolls with the costuming from movies, is New York's Tonner Doll Company.
