It's Christmas for homeless Denver area animals and here's how you can help

ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY PROGRAMS OF COLORADO - This Lakewood nonprofit runs Barking CAAT Ranch for its therapy animals and is hoping for Christmas donations to buy food and gear for them for them, such as hay for horses. Any amount is appreciated and when you donate $150 or more you get a dedication brick on the group's pathway. Information:

HUMANE SOCIETY OF BOULDER VALLEY has a number of ways to help this holiday season.

- Make a tribute gift and send a holiday themed animal e-card to the recipient.

- Boulder Humane has joined forces with the team of Tagg-The Pet Tracker in Tagg It Forward, a program that offers a discount on a Tagg GPS tracking system and makes a donation to Humane Society of Boulder Valley for each purchase. purchase a Tagg Tracker from and save 10 per cent off using Boulder Humane's special coupon code: TIF1021Tagg. The Pet Tracker will donate $25 to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley for each time its coupon code is used.

- You can cross off a few items on your holiday shopping list at the Boulder Bookstore on Dec.23 from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m. and Dec. 24 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. and help support Boulder Humane in the process. The society is sending volunteers to the Boulder Bookstore to wrap your holiday gifts in exchange for donations.

MORRIS ANIMAL FOUNDATION - During Morris Animal Foundation's Season of Hope, a generous donor will match any donation you make to the organization before Dec.31.

Also, you can send one of the foundation's eCards. When you make a donation to honor a person this holiday season, Morris will acknowledge the gift with an eCard sent to your email address. For each $10 contribution, you may choose one of seven eCards that you can personalize with your own message.

DUMB FRIENDS LEAGUE -Thanks to a matching grant, your gift today will be doubled to help more pets. A donor has agreed to match all gifts received by Dec. 31—up to $10,000.

HUMANE SOCIETY OF THE SOUTH PLATTE VALLEY - Every Christmas day the society welcomes the public to come in and help shelter animals celebrate the Holidays. This year's feast will take place between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to let the animals know they are not alone this holiday. The shelter is at 2129 W. Chenango Ave., Littleton.
