I feel like a kid again. All I need now are some purple streamers and playing cards on my spokes and I’ll be freewheeling in style on my new REI Novara Transfer commuter bike. I never knew biking could be this much fun!

I urge you to join the fun too.

May is Bike to Work Month throughout the United States. Communities far and wide have a plethora of activities planned for the month, and everyone is encouraged to ride. Ride to work. Ride for fun. Ride to the park on Sunday afternoon. Ride to the YMCA for your daily workout. Ride, ride, ride. Check out what’s happening in your city – and get out on your bike!

If you can’t manage to bike to work every day this month, please consider biking on May 20 – Bike to Work Day. Bike to Work Day is a national event that began in 1956 by the League of American Bicyclists and many cities have celebrations of various kinds planned.

There are many activities happening throughout the month of May to give you opportunities to ride your bike and learn more about biking. Please join us to make a healthier you and a healthier planet!
