The Wall Street Journal has just published an article by Stu Woo titled America's Cup 2013, Against the Wind, or how Oracle's Team USA was able to pull victory from the proverbial jaws of defeat.

Woo details the process leading to the realization that the Oracle boat was not performing and details the steps taken by Team USA to remedy the problem.

In detailed interviews with team members, Woo dissects the problems and analyzes the solutions the Oracle Team had to use to pull off the victory.

Down 8-1 (and starting off with a two point penalty), Oracle was able to sweep the remaining eight races, thwarting the ETNZ boat.

This is a wonderful synopsis of the decisions facing a billion dollar corporation when a single defeat means an elimination and loss of the America's Cup Trophy.
