Flashback to 1989. The decade is coming to a close. George Bush has been in office for less than a year. The radio is playing tunes like Every Rose has its Thorn by Poison and Milli Vanilli is tearing up the charts with songs performed by, well, someone other than them. There is also a very popular movie heating up the box office over the summer and Texian Brewing is reviving this classic fan and critics’ favorite at the brewery this Friday. Here is some background information:
Event: Back to School Family Night
Location: Texian Brewing, 1125 FM 359, Richmond, TX
Date & Time: Friday, August 22, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Family Night is back at Texian Brewing and the featured movie for this final Friday before the kids return to school is Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Starring Harrison Ford and Sean Connery, this action/adventure film picked up an Oscar for its sound effects and was nominated for several more Oscars and Golden Globe Awards.
Texian Brewing is showing Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade later in the evening but while there is still light in the sky, guests can feast on three glasses of beer, drawn fresh from the kegs. Options include the Texian standbys like Broken Bridge, First Stand, etc., plus a possible special tapping of Vaquero, a Mexican Dark Lager. For you and your children’s dining pleasure, Churrasco's food truck will be parked and ready to serve. And as always, if you prefer, you are welcome to bring your own food to the event.
Admission to the Back to School Family Night is $10 per adult and includes three glasses of beer. Children and designated drivers are admitted free of charge. Admission is payable at the door, upon entry. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair, as seating is limited. And dogs are welcome provided they are on a leash and well- behaved.
1989 was an unforgettable year for American movies and Texian Brewing wants families to enjoy an evening together, under the stars, reliving one of the year’s best and most popular films, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It’s a great way to wrap up the summer of 2014 with the kiddos before they begin a new school year and a nice way for mom and dad to reminisce while sipping on some of the finest beer in town.
