It’s official! Little Red - one of the last of the 22 dogs that Best Friends Animal Society seized from the property of Michael Vick, has gone from Best Friends to a loving, permanent home! By law, her new adoptive “mom” had to foster Little Red for six months before she could welcome her as a permanent part of the family. This “waiting period” was necessary in order to make sure she could make an adjustment from being abused to being loved, and so she could regain human trust. But that time is up, and now this little girl has found a “forever home.”

Best Friends has been an integral part of saving and "rehabilitating" Michael Vick's abused pit bulls.

The official adoption of Little Red is a joyous occasion, but it doesn't end there. Watch the video as she comes back to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Southern Utah to visit all of the friends that she made while she was there.

Best Friends Animal Society is a nonprofit organization creating “no-kill” programs and partnerships that will – hopefully – lead us to a day when there are No More Homeless Pets®. At the core of Best Friends' work is the dream that one day kindness will replace cruelty, and animals will no longer be destroyed because they are unwanted or “imperfect.”

Best Friends’ initiative is that spaying and neutering pets will be the rule for all pets, and adoption will be the first option for everyone. Making this dream a reality is the mission Best Friends calls “No More Homeless Pets.” The society's leading initiatives in animal care and community programs are coordinated from its Kanab, Utah, headquarters, the country's largest no-kill sanctuary, located in a place appropriately named “Angel Canyon.” The work that Best Friends does is made possible by the personal and financial support of a network of supporters and community partners across the country.
