Everyone likes to be one of the first to know. Whether it’s for the intrinsic knowledge itself, or something to laud in front of your peers, being one of the early ones gives a person some degree of satisfaction. And in wines, it seems like it’s hard to get in on the ground floor unless you have special skills or knowledge.
So today, here is a chance to be one of the first to know about one of the newest vineyards in the Malibu area. Not readily known outside the wine industry, Malibu has steadily become a growing area and is scheduled to be an AVA sometime in 2014.
Dolin Malibu Estates is the newest of the vineyards in the area and is now in its production and bottling stages. The grapes, located on the steep hillsides surrounding the Estate of Elliott and Lynn Dolin, are currently producing quality Chardonnays. With three vintages already under their belts, the Dolin family is excited about the current production.
Just as newsworthy though is that Dolin is currently working to produce new wines from the Central Coast. In the production stage for the winery is a selection of Pinot Noirs coming from the vineyards of Bien Nacido and Solomon Hills. These wines will broaden the scope of Dolin and allow them to compete in the tightly competitive Pinot Noir market.
As part of the success story, the Dolin’s hired Winemaker Kirby Anderson. Anderson is highly regarded among California growers and winemakers. His presence on the Dolin team has allowed Dolin to source grapes not normally available to a new endeavor.
All said, Dolin is generating enthusiasm in the business and the wines are continually gaining in popularity. Dolin wines are available through www.dolinestate.com and www.dolinestate.com/where to taste.php.
Try Dolin and have a winederful daty!!!
