One might think that with all the different bakeries in the New Orleans area who make King Cakes, and all the different kinds of King Cakes to choose from - that we'd all be sick of King Cakes right about now.
Not a chance.
But maybe there are some you haven't tried yet. This Sunday, February 9, come out to Champions Square to rectify that. Sponsored by Ochsner Health System, the world’s first and only King Cake Festival will feature some of the most mouth-watering King Cakes in the city.
The King Cake Festival includes live performances by Bonerama, Dr. Jazz and The New Orleans Sounds, Papa C & The Slammin' Horns, Old Sole, and The Family Reserve, just to name a few, a Kids' Zone with beverages, games, photo booth, and prizes, and a People's Choice Award for best King Cake.
There will also be a One-Mile Stroller Fun Run around the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. So bring the babes, decorate their strollers - and don't forgot to decorate the babies too in order to win prizes. The Stroller Run begins at 10 A. M. There is a $20 registration for the run which includes T-shirt.
