If I was just anybody I'd say, it's all good, but I know better, it's all God song by Soul Seekers II
When I hear this song, It's All Good by the Soul Seekers II, I make a mental note to write a Christian Music Examiner article about the beautiful melody with the harmonic voices of men singing in unity about God.
I've got...clothes in my closet
I've got...a bed for my head, shoes for my feet
I've got...breath in my body
And if I was just anybody I'd say, it's all good
But I know better, it's all God
At first I thought it was an old Sam Cooke song that I'd somehow missed, because when I saw "Soul Seekers" on my minivan's nav screen, my mind flashed to some of those old Christian recordings that the fine and philandering Sam Cooke did back in the day that still speak to my soul when I hear them.
But no, a quick check of Amazon shows it's the Complete Recordings of Sam Cooke with the Soul Stirrers, not the Soul Seekers.
All these soul band names!
Anyway, these Soul Seekers II guys feature Pastor Marvin L. Winans -- can't you just hear Donnie McClurkin shouting "Pastor Marvin L. Winans!!!!" like he does when he introduces the pastor on that "Who Would've Thought?" song?
Love Pastor Winans' songs, especially "I'm Over it Now" and "Just Don't Wanna Know" off his Alone But Not Alone album.
Anyway, I don't know who these Soul Seekers II guys are, and if they're the same guys in this The Original Soul Seekers group or not.
Is it like Menudo? I don't know, but my guess is that we'll be hearing more from these Soul Seekers II in the future, cause it's not just all good -- pray it with me -- it's all God.
