I have never been much a sports fan. In previous years, I couldn't even tell you who won the Super Bowl. But, there is one thing that I do like about the Super Bowl: the food. Who doesn't enjoy gathering together with their friends and family to eat and share some fun lively conversation and competition?
You don't have to be in love with football to enjoy the food. Just allow the "foodies" to gather together while the ones who are into the game, yell it out in the other room. Super Bowl snacks and appetizers are a popular hit on game day. There's the BBQ wings, salsa, chips and dip, mini tacos and anything else that you favor on one of the biggest sports days in history.
There are a variety of places to find inspiration and Super Bowl recipes on the Internet. You can actually find "game day treats" and other appetizing dishes at All Recipes.com. You can find recipes for guacamole, tailgate chili, bacon wrapped smokies and fruit dip.
The Food Network also offers plenty of fun and delicious recipes for Super Bowl too. You can dine on some Maryland crabcakes, pulled pork sandwiches and even learn to make some recipes from the popular television chefs and personalities for Super Bowl. Thirsty? There's game-day drinks too!
Once you find your favorite recipes, be sure to save them to your computer or print and store in a folder or book. Your friends and family just might ask for some of their personal favorites next year!...
If you are on a budget for game day, you can always check your local grocery stores for sales and coupons. Many stores have special Super Bowl ads to attract shoppers and help you save a few pennies! Look for websites for the nearest grocery store to see what the current sales are or call them ahead of time. You should be able to buy ingredients at a convienient price so that you can prepare all of your favorite Super Bowl snacks, drinks and dinners!
-And for those who don't want to watch the football game.... Snack on all of the delicious food and put on a movie in another room... There's no reason why everybody can't have fun on game day!
