That's right, it is a wrap for this year's Tribeca Film Festival held in New York City. But it's just begun for the 2010's planning.
Not to forget 2009's so quickly though. Those who did not attend in person can get recaps of all the following: films shown, the winners, film panel discussions, and those participating in photo ops, interviews and conferences. Most, if not all, can be viewed at their website.
Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro, are the founders of the Tribeca Film Festival, and they had hoped for 200 films showing at the festival, and they were not disappointed. The festival was intended to help New Yorkers spend less time worrying about the economy and more time appreciating great film art.
The festival opened Wednesday, April 22, 2009 and ended on Sunday, May 3, 2009.
The festival was made audience friendly with the use of a Film Guide to choose which screenings one wanted to attend. There were also Q & A seminars with the director, cast, and crew held after each movie.
The festival also offered FREE events. In addition, there was a Tribeca Drive-in, a free outdoor screening series that was held at the World Financial Center Plaza. The drive-in opened at 6 PM with activities for the entire community.
To make a whole family experience the festival even offered a Family Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd.
One was able to follow the Tribeca Film Festival on Twitter or become a Facebook fan for more details as the festival got closer, its grand kick off with the Vanity Fair Party, as the activities happened - including the Awards Presentation, dinners and the final wrap!

The festival even has had its own website for anyone to refer to, and, as far as I know, will continue to have it with upcoming info for the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival!
2009's Festival might be over for us, as far as attending it live, but we can still enjoy, online, everything we missed. The event's staff, directors, actors, and such are all in pre-production for the upcoming year. Actors will be acting, directors directing, and Tribeca's staff will be readying for its 9th Festival - and we'll be looking forward to it! In the meantime, enjoy 2009 online...
