If Deb Mustico is on the premises, things are going to get tasty. Or, tastier.

The maker of all-natural flavor packets that are added to wine and then blended with ice to make wine slushies is scheduled to be in the Hudson-Chatham Winery tasting room in Ghent from noon to 5 p.m. this Saturday, doling out complimentary samples and suggestions for summer entertaining.

Says winery owner Carlo DeVito, "If you’re a fan of fruity cocktails like piña coladas and icy margaritas, then you’ll want to come to the winery when Deb makes delicious ones using [our] wines and her all-natural, handmade fruit and flavor blends. We’ll have the blender going so you can try ‘em. They’re a refreshing alternative to the more alcoholic blender drinks that taste so good in summer."

The following Saturday, June 14, the winery will team up with Habana Premium Cigar Shoppe for a wine-and-cigar night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Attendees will enjoy two cigars from the shop, five to six tastings of their choice of reds, ports, sherries, and grappa, plus fresh-grilled sliders and other snacks.

Artisan cigar roller Francisco, of Habana Premium Cigar Shoppe, will be on hand to fashion handmade cigars for those wanting something more personalized. These will be available for separate purchase. Admission to the event is $20 for case club members, $25 for all others. Reservations may be made on the winery website.

There are Habana Premium Cigar Shoppes at 528 North Greenbush Road in nearby East Greenbush, Rensselaer County, and at 1645 Central Avenue in Albany. The winery is located at 1900 Route 66 about midway between Hudson and Chatham in Columbia County. Phone: (518) 392-9463.
