Ephesians 2:4-10 (NLT)
But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus. God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Not to date myself, but many years ago there was a television show called “Candid Camera.” The premise was to set up people in ordinary situations with extraordinary circumstances and see how they react or respond. With a variety of outcomes, it seems funny unless of course you are the one being tricked, then it may not be quite so entertaining. There are many televisions shows and entertainment based on the element of surprise. America’s Funniest Home Videos and Punked are modern day examples of the same idea. We have all had days filled with situations and circumstances that make us look around because surely this is not normal. Life can be very hard. Troubles overwhelming. There has to more to life than this and there is but how does one find and live in it. If God planned good things long ago, what happened along the way to make Him change His Mind about us? Certainly a loving God would not allow such hardship to touch those He loves and desperately desires to be His Beloved. Oh, if we could just understand the parameters of God’s Love and His Perception then maybe just maybe we would discover the Glory of God intended for all humanity and learn to walk through trials and hardship into His Presence forevermore.
You have been set up. Yes, someone is watching. Waiting to be revealed from the sidelines and brought into the limelight of your life to bring the relief you are after. The Lord will not stop there and it is only the beginning. We must learn to live from one divine appointment to the next by faith with confident hope that everything is going according to plan – God’s Plan that is. God is rich in mercy. He loved us so much…past tense meaning He loved us first. He saw every single sin that we have committed and will ever commit but decided that He loved and desired us just the same. So He made the Way – Jesus Christ so that our dead existence could be renewed by His Glory manifesting on every cellular level of our body, mind and soul permeating the atmosphere called life that surrounds us. Oh we have been set up alright, but it is not some kind of trick that will cause us despair or lead to disappointment. God wants to flood your life with His Incredible Wealth of Grace and Mercy so you may experience all the good things that He planned from the very beginning.
Jeremiah 29:11-14 (NLT)
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the LORD. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”
God has a plan for my life and yours, too whether we ever call on the Name of Jesus Christ or not it is firmly in place and revealed by His Word, Will and Way. It contains a future and hope which is the mystery that God is waiting to reveal. What is He waiting on? He is waiting for us to make a connection with Him. (Prayer) The Lord is waiting for us to come to Him wholeheartedly and leave sin as a lifestyle behind. You cannot have God’s Plan your way. Jesus Christ is the Way, Truth and Life. (John 14:6) He is the One who makes God accessible to us including His Glory. There are many, many frustrated believers out there who have given up on God’s Plan because they cannot see the Light. God has ended your captivity. Jesus Christ has set you free to be transformed into a new creation. Maybe if you would leave the old life behind, you might be able to embrace the future and hope that He promised. It cannot be found living in the past. Yes, there will be trouble and trials ahead but everything is going along as planned.
James 1:18 (NLT)
He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
You were a planned pregnancy no matter what the details of your birth. “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born.” (Psalm 139:13-16) The Lord God created you with a purpose. His Word not only reveals this wonderful plan but it prepares us to fulfill it. God was the One who decided what you would look like and who you would be. He created you passionately and purposefully. The darkness of this world has a tendency to blind people and distort their view of the powerful potential locked inside of them by God. When the Light of His Love hits them, they immediately come to life as faith grows into confident hope. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by the Hand of God. Do not underestimate your Creation. You have purpose. It may be undiscovered, but remember you have been set up by God for such a time as this.
Hebrews 4:12-13 (NLT)
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.
The first thing to know and understand to experience the Glory of God waiting to be released in our life is that God knows everything about and loves us just the same. If people could fully understand just a portion of God’s Great Love that is the basis of His Mercy and Grace, it would be so overwhelming that they would gladly leave this world behind. Nothing compares to the Love that God has for you and me. His Word is alive and powerful. It is the very thing that produced all of creation. It also exposes are innermost thoughts and desires to expose anything that could potentially separate us from the Lord. It is not designed or dictated to condemn us but to set us free to live in the rich inheritance God has planned for us. We must change our perspective about the Word of God and learn to embrace and live it every day. ”O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD.” (Psalm 139:1-4) With this in mind, His Grace is all that we need to live out His Plan and Purpose for our life. We do not have to be perfect but live solely subject to His Word. The Word wrapped in flesh has a name. It is the Name above all Names – Jesus. The enemy wants to convince us that we can live however we want and have God’s Very Best. That just doesn’t make since when you cannot get to Florida from Maine heading north. You must go south because that is where your desired destination is. If you want God’s Plan and Power in your life, why would you look for it in this world? You cannot find it there so head to the Word. You are being set up but God has no problem revealing the Mystery of Love to His Beloved.
Romans 8:18-23 (NLT)
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.
Salvation through the Blood of Jesus Christ makes the Presence of God fully accessible to His People. But you still must come boldly…(Hebrews 4:15-16) Eternity is in our hearts to make a Heaven-to-earth connection. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) Given a measure of faith to begin with (Romans 12:2), we have all that we need to begin producing confident hope that allows us to love and trust the Lord more and more. We have been set free so we must walk out of captivity and into the Light of His Amazing Love. It is our birthright as adopted children to have all that God promised according to His Word and by His Grace, you have been set up for total success as Christ ties all of this together. (Colossians 1:15-18) He is ready to blow your mind with His Love and Kindness in abundance. Are you ready to receive it? Are you willing to do something about it? The set up only works if you choose to show up.
John 16:33 (NLT)
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
The world has created a generation of suspect people who are very wary. When met with opposition, they tend to flee choosing a manmade peace. Well, if you want real peace that comes from Jesus Christ you must prepare for war as the Latin phrase “Si vis pacem, para bellum” suggests. The Word of God clearly states “here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows.” Where did believers ever get the idea that following Jesus Christ would be an easy journey? Seriously, it seems pretty straight forward right here. “But take heart…” It is time to retrieve all the broken pieces of your heart from the unworthy world and give it to Jesus Christ. What happens next is worth it all? You will have the power to overcome every obstacle standing between and God’s Glorious Plan for your life. You will have peace that passes all understanding as you live triumphantly rather than tragically. We must learn to work through our problems and stop giving up all the time. (Romans 12:11-13) God’s Plan was not from birth to death but from the beginning to the end. He is the Alpha and Omega and leaves nothing out. You were created to be a Child of the Living God. Predestined, in fact. (Romans 8:28-29) Once you were born, all every detail of your life was lined up with the Word of God just waiting for you to choose life over death. God’s Goal is for you to live eternally with Him. He will do and allow whatever it takes in this life to achieve your life’s mission according to His Plan including your future and hope. When trouble does come your way, He will comfort you if you rely on Him. (2 Corinthians 1:3-9) God knows our limitations and is closely monitoring everything concerning His Precious Ones. He will not allow the enemy to steal, kill or destroy His People. Just use his schemes to strengthen our faith and produce more hope so that we will endure for God’s Very Best. (2 Corinthians 4:7-9) God is preparing you for the great reveal when His Glory overtakes our changing every outcome according to His Purpose, Promise and Plan for our life. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18) Don’t give up. Go for it. You have nothing to lose! You can trust God. He is setting you up for His Glory which will produce every good thing that He promised for your life before you were even born to imagine and dream it. Do you trust the Lord? Then rely on His Set Up! Every situation, circumstance and problem in your life is under the control of God and the Holy Spirit will lead you through to His Glory waiting on the other side! You will be perfect lacking no good thing! (James 1:2-4)
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NLT)
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Why do we face so many problems in life? Because His Power works best in weakness. When it comes to Jesus Christ – less is more. The less we try to work everything out and the sooner we give up on self-reliance the closer His Glory is to us. When I am weak, I become strong. God’s Glory is reserved for those who choose to lose themselves in God and become subject to His Plan and Purpose for their life. God set you up for greatness. Jesus set you up to inherit. The Holy Spirit will set you up for perfection. His Word is set you up for every promise. You have been set up now will you let up? Stop trying to avoid problems and hardships. When they come stop whining and complaining but look past the details of life to His Glory. This is the Power of His Grace in full operation. Let God tell you His Secrets and Plan for your life. Trust the Lord. Real trust is demonstrated through faith by those who live what they believe to the very end. Let the Power of Christ work through your life today. He is making all things new. He is perfecting that which concerns you. He is working every single detail of your life for good! You have been set up today for the Glory of God! It is up to you if you will receive it!
James 1:2-4 (NLT)
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
