It's a go for Farmington Hills bus vote

A sigh of relief has washed over Farmington Hills for some residents who use the bus as a lifeline after the City Council agreed to place the SMART bus millage on the ballot for August 2010. The council approved the proposal 6-1 and will give the community the opportunity to continue to fund bus service through it’s annual tax mil of .59 for an additional four years.
Local communities are gearing up in Oakland and most of Wayne counties (excluding Detroit) for the August election to continue to opt into the service. Unlike Macomb County, where the entire county is considered an opt-in, communities in Wayne and Oakland must vote every four years to continue bus service.
