Celebrate a wonderful day in a beautiful garden setting at The Desert Botanical Garden at their 75th anniversary celebration. Home to 139 rare, threatened and endangered plant species from around the world, The Garden strives to be an indispensable resource in the Southwestern United States for helping individuals learn about Sonoran Desert Plants.
As a gift to the entire community, admission is complimentary for this anniversary party on Saturday, September 28. Included is complimentary admission to the Mariposa Monarca Monarch Butterfly Exhibit.
Butterfly exhibit hours are 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
At the party, there will be a host of activities and entertainment from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The activities will explore and celebrate the mission of the Garden with activities for all ages including demonstrations on Landscaping and Gardening. You'll learn how to garden in desert soils, as well as pruning and vegetable and herb gardening. You'll gain a better understanding of food and well-being regarding the edible plants available in Arizona, learn how to meditate and make Mesquite Bean Flour. Herbarium and Conservation Greenhouse Tours will be conducted and visitors are also being asked to bring images or share written memories on an interactive mural on display in Ottosen Gallery.
