Thursday's soccer double header at Benilde St. Margaret's in St. Louis Park was brought to you by the number four as both Red Knight soccer teams shut out the Totino-Grace Eagles 4-0.
In the girls game, Alexa Tataryn scored a hat trick to lead the Red Knights, the top ranked team in Class A to a 4-0 win over the Totino-Grace Eagles.
Tataryn scored the lone first half goal on a corner kick that deflected off of Eagle goalkeeper Gaby eisfelder and into the net. Her second goal came from the right side. BSM increased their lead to three as freshman Maren Noble found the net and Tataryn wrapped up the scoring after receiving a pass from Andrea Saavedra and putting it in the net.
BSM increased their record to 7-2-1 and will travel to Victoria on Monday, September 23 to face the Holy Family Catholic Fire. Totino-Grace ended their five game winning streak and heads to Lindstrom on Saturday, September 21 to take on the Chisago Lakes Wildcats.
Now to the boys game where five Red Knights picked up a point to shut down the Totino-Grace Eagles 4-0.
Aidan O'Driscoll scored BSN's lone first half goal after he picked up a pass from Eddie McHugh and scored from the left side.
The Red Knights added three more goals in the second half Bright Rwagatare, Luke Horton, brother of Red Knight hockey standout Jake Horton and Sam Smogard found the net.
BSM, ranked sixth in Class A increased their record to 6-3-1 and will host the St. Paul Academy Spartans Monday, September 23. Totino-Grace fell to 4-5 and will head down Highway 36 on Saturday, September 21 to take on the Stillwater Ponies.
