It pays to remember the Monday $5 chicken burrito deal at Mission Burrito’s

In case you have forgotten as I often do, Mission Burrito, the original home-grown burrito chain, offers their chicken burritos and chicken burrito bowls for just $5 on Mondays. A terrific deal, these are the same regular-size burritos and bowls sold every day. For $5 and change (and tip, if you feel like it), you can enjoy a top-notch burrito with your choice of a number of noticeably fresh and recently made fillings and aided by one of their flavorful salsas that is sure to provide a filling lunch or evening meal.

Even better than the $5 Mondays, at the initial West Alabama location, the chicken burritos are $5 all the time.

Thinking of Mission Burrito, it seems that the name will be changing sooner than later, CultureMap reported. That is shame. A simple as the moniker is, its use has been rather witty; the chain plays on the familiar iconography of the Spanish missions in Texas with its logo and artwork in its restaurants while “Mission” also references the neighborhood in San Francisco that gave rise to the popular burrito.

Like all Mexican food, though, the Mission burrito is much better in Houston.
