This Saturday is the day that the Speedway track goes to the dogs-literally. It's time for Mutt Strut to support The Humane Society of Indianapolis. Your registration fee goes to help homeless animals in Indianapolis while you and your pet get to walk the yard of bricks. The gates and on site registration opens at 9:30 AM. You can sign up there if you haven't pre-registered. Registration at the gate is $40 for 16 and older, $25 from 8-15 and children 7 and under are free. Tshirts are available while they last but will not be given to children under the age of 8.
Opening ceremonies begin at 10:45 and the Mutt Strut will officially kick off at 11 AM with the waving of the green flag. This year's Grand Marshalls are the team from the Bert Show that is the morning show on 93.9. Honorary Co-Chairs are Kalen Irsay from the Colts and Indy racer, Graham Rahal. The track is 2.5 miles so if you are taking small children or small dogs, it's a good idea to have strollers or a wagon with you.
There will be plenty of vendor booths available at the IMS Plaza. They will be handing out free samples and coupons. You can also get your pet microchipped. Food trucks will be in attendance along with Rowdie, Blue, Butler II and Butler III. Midwest Search Dogs will have several demos as well. The party on the Plaza will run from 9:30 AM-3:30 PM. Last walkers can enter the track at 2 PM and must be off the track by 3 PM.
