According to MTV on Feb 11, Bryan Singer, director of “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, was asked if Halle Berry would return as Storm. In a phone interview conducted by Josh Horowitz, information regarding the “X-Men” series had been revealed by Singer.
First of all, Singer was the producer of “X-Men: First Class” and had later become the replacement for Matthew Vaughn in the sequel. Considering Singer’s work with the giants of “Jack the Giant Slayer”, he decided to transition his work with the CGI he’s worked with from that movie to “X-Men: Days of Future Past”. In fact, there are talks of creatures just as giant-like as well. The sizable Sentinels had been confirmed for the movie.
Singer has already stuffed his cast of characters in this movie. Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Hugh Jackman, and so forth, are already making their return to the big screen. These actors will be portraying both present and future selves. Jackman, who plays Wolverine, never ages, so he’ll be the same actor in both time lines.
But will Halle Berry even be returning as Storm? Singer gives his response:
"I can't say. I don't know yet. And it's not necessarily a deal making aspect at all," he said. "I want to make sure it'll make sense. But I love working with her".
Storm's origins come from he being worshiped as an African goddess with powers to manipulate the weather. She was later recruited by Xavier and had explained that her gift was not of "magic" but of her mutation.
