December 3 - January 3: “War to War" Ahmed Al-Bahrani Exhibit (Bayfront Park)
This new series by Iraqi sculptor Ahmed Al-Bahrani stands against war and gun violence, making a breakthrough in contemporary art. Al-Bahrani’s repertoire of large-scale sculptures creates a state of affairs in receptors contrary to what they’re comfortable with by interacting conventional and unconventional symbols.

December 4-8, 10:00am-9:00pm: Giants in the City (Bayfront Park)
An outdoor sculpture exhibit with “Giant” inflatable sculptures infused with sunshine during the day and illuminated at night.

Jonah Bokaer X Daniel Arsham @ the Arsht Center

A groundbreaking choreographer and acclaimed visual artist join forces for an Arsht Center world premiere during Art Basel 2013! Jonah Bokaer, “contemporary dance’s renaissance man” (The New York Times), and Miami native Daniel Arsham bring to Miami a thrilling new multidisciplinary piece. Occupant focuses on movement in relationship to built spaces, objects, lighting, and other media, creating illusions in stage space. December 6-8, 2013.

Art Basel Miami Week - Dec 2-8, 2013

Numerous art related events will be taking place all around Downtown Miami during the week of December 2. In order to ensure a pleasant experience to visitors and residents alike the Miami DDA together with its partner agencies has made special arrangements for transportation and area enhanced services.

1. Special Miami Trolley Services:
The City of Miami is providing extra services and a connection to the Miami Beach Convention Center as listed below (see also attached Route Map). Trolleys are specially marked and may also be flagged down.

a) Art Basel Miami Beach | Midtown Shuttle
Provides shuttle service between ABMB and Midtown.
Operating Hours:
Wed-Sat : 11am-10pm
Sunday: 11am-8pm
Every hour on the hour

b) Art Basel Miami Week Loop
Connects Midtown/Wynwood/Downtown Miami (CBD)
Operating Hours:
Mon-Sat: 11am-10pm
Sunday: 11am-8pm
Every 30 minutes +/-

2) FreeBee Shuttles
The Miami DDA has made arrangements for FreeBee electric cars to be roaming around Downtown Miami. Out of their fleet of 20 cars there will be 8 on this side of the bay. Guests can catch a ride by simply flagging one of them down. Rides are free, Drivers are paid by tips.

3) Enhanced Services
The Miami DDA is providing additional clean and safe services throughout the week of December 2nd.
Our Ambassadors and DET Team (Yellow Shirts) will be out in force to provide assistance and make Downtown look beautiful. Ambassadors are scheduled to be patrolling high traffic areas. In case of special assistance needs like safe walks, DWNTWN Ambassadors can be reached by calling: 305-424-9639".
