This year, Orange Curl Salon in Knoxville, Tenn. celebrates its 40th year in business. Much of the salon's success can be attributed to the superior customer service and the stylists continuing education in current styles and techniques. The stylists are always happy to discuss current hair trends and how they might be adapted to your look and personal style.

We asked the stylists what they see as style trends and what their clients are asking them for.

When discussing texture, both Joyce Reagan Watson and Maria White said their clients are looking for beachy, soft waves that are undone. Carly Davis said her clients want soft and natural. This is true for ladies 9 to 90 years of age

In terms of cuts, Heather Carper mentioned that actress Jennifer Lawrence had just cut her hair into a pixie cut with longer pieces on top and Krista Richey said that the short shag is popular. Heather said that bob haircuts are never out and that you can always add layers and stack the bob. Krista loves the inverted bob.

When asked about color Joyce said that the ombre look is still around. Kathy Cravatta is seeing red violet as a coming spring look and Krista agreed with that and added both dark purples and lavender shades. Red Carpet fixtures Katy Perry, Kelly Osborne and Selena Gomez have all sported various purple shades.

Of course, frizzies are never in fashion and all the stylists at The Orange Curl Salon get constant requests for the Keratin blowout. The blowout is not about stick straight hair, but about manageability and taming the frizzies. The Orange Curl has added the Kenra Smoothing System to the arsenal and can consult about which system would work best for each client.

While it is still early in the year, this would be a great time to think about a new hairdo. The stylists at The Orange Curl Salon in Knoxville, Tenn. are waiting to work with you.
