Men's singles tennis action is scheduled to get underway around 9 p.m. EST (6 p.m. PST) from Arthur Ashe Stadium following the conclusion of the Serena Williams vs. Carla Suarez Navarro clash.
As far as TV start times are concerned, ESPN will begin its broadcast at 7 p.m. EST for Williams vs. Suarez Navarro – which is the first match of the nightcap for Day 9 – and will continue its interrupted coverage until (GBR) Andy Murray and (UZB) Denis Istomin close the evening's festivities.
For those trying to watch this Murray vs. Istomin match via live stream, US Open Live hosts an Arthur Ashe – and other court – feed with DVR-functionality, which enables tennis fans to pause, rewind and/or watch the matches live as they happen. ESPN-3 (DVR replays also available, click on ESPN-3 link ) will also have a live stream feed of tonight's matches.
It comes as no surprise that the defending U.S. Open tennis champ is listed as a huge favorite over his unseeded opponent tonight. Tennis oddsmakers list Murray as a 1/15 [-1500] favorite over Istomin, who's a 9/1 [+900] dog in this matchup.
The 26-year-old Scot was victorious in the first and only career meeting between the two. The two-time Grand Slam champ defeated the 27-year-old Uzbekistani at the 2013 Bisbane tournament in Australia in straight sets: 6-4, 7-6(3).
The winner of this match moves on to the U.S. Open tennis schedule to meet either (SUI) Stanislas Wawrinka or (CZE) Tomas Berdych in the quarter-finals.
