Republican attack dog, Darrell Issa has found a new target, Kathleen Sebelius. She is at Health and Human Services, bleeding alongside the Obamacare website. Issa caught a whiff of that and claims she must fix it or resign.
Issa said that the President is poorly served by Sebelius. Americans might believe they are poorly served by Sebelius and Issa; here is why.
Of course Issa's charge is true. Looking at Kathleen Sebelius bio and resume, she looked familiar before becoming Secretary of Health and Human Services because she is the daughter of former Ohio Governor, John Gilligan.
She was born and raised a professional politician and took the franchise to Kansas where she was a two term governor. What that means is that she could manage a state government as a CEO.
Now, when a President appoints someone to Health and Human Services, would you not expect a healthcare professional as the nominee? Yes, of course. But, that did not happen. We got Kathleen instead.
Now, maybe Kathleen did a good job managing the Kansas public health enterprise, and that counts, but she is academically trained as a politician with an MBA. She has no information systems experience either. However, she was insurance commissioner, and that counts.
See her resume. She is not the best candidate and her qualifications are flawed.
As for Darrell Issa, here is a reminder that your record has not been expunged.
“Issa earned a General Educational Development (GED) certificate. Twice that year, he was arrested. In the first incident he was indicted by a grand jury for an alleged theft of a Maserati, but prosecutors dropped the charge. In the second incident, he was stopped for driving the wrong way on a one-way street, and a police officer noticed a firearm in his glove compartment. Issa was charged with carrying a concealed weapon. He pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of an unregistered firearm, and was sentenced to six months' probation and a small fine.”
He went on the earn a degree and to obtain an officer’s commission in the Army Reserve and rose to the rank of captain. But then…
“Shortly before his discharge in 1980, Issa was again indicted for grand theft auto. According to court documents, Darrell's brother William Issa had gone to a used car dealer and offered to sell his brother's car, a 1976 Mercedes sedan, while impersonating his brother. With an Ohio driver’s license belonging to Darrell, William was given $16,000 for the car from the dealer. Shortly after the sale, Darrell reported the car stolen and told the police that he had left the title in the trunk.
During the investigation Darrell gave conflicting statements about whether he had recently obtained a replacement driver’s license. This evidence resulted in police suspecting that the brothers had conspired to fraudulently sell Darrell’s car and then collect on the insurance policy and from the sale of the car.”
Fast forward, Darrell Issa, former car thief went into the business of manufacturing car alarms. He made millions doing that before becoming a politician and head of the House Oversight Committee. Go figure, only in America.
“Sebelius needs to fix health site or resign, Issa says

Sebelius responds to those calling for her resignation: A group of Republican congressmen are calling for Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to resign. She says the group is made up of people who don't want the Affordable Care Act to work.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius must fix the problems with the HealthCare.gov website or lose her job, Rep. Darrell Issa said Sunday, in advance of hearings in which Sebelius is expected to testify this week about glitches with signing up for health insurance online.
"If she cannot reorganize to get the kind of a team in consistently to meet (President Obama's) agenda, then she shouldn't be there," the California Republican said on CBS' ‘Face the Nation’. "When she says she didn't know, why didn't she know that the president's signature legislation was in fact in trouble?
"The president has been poorly served," Issa said. "If somebody doesn't leave, if there isn't a real restructuring — not just a 60-day somebody come in and try to fix it — then he's missing the point of Management 101.''
