Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports that Israeli soldiers were responding to a noise complaint in Hebron; a West Bank neighborhood that has been a hotbed of violence. The soldiers arrived at a club where a Palestinian wedding was taking place. Fully-geared with helmets, tactical vests, and machine guns; the members of the Israeli Givati Brigade were apparently disarmed by the sounds of celebration. In particular, the soldiers were taken in by the DJ's song selection.
Smartphones captured the soldiers slapping fives, and dancing alongside Palestinian attendees to "Gangnam Style", the worldwide sensation that became the most watched music video of all-time last year. Further video shows Palestinian party-goers hoisting the battle-clad soldiers onto their shoulders and dancing around them in the jubilation of the evening.
The IDF says it considers this a "serious incident". "The clip has been taken down from the web, and the soldiers that were involved and participated in the party have been suspended pending an investigation" an IDF spokesperson said.
The clip can still be found on "the web".
