Enjoy “Hump Day” island style for Reggae Wednesdays at Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati. Part of the PNC Summer Music Series, organized by 3CDC, Wednesday evenings this summer reggae bands take to the stage to showcase their Caribbean inspired tunes. This Wednesday, July 9, Zvuloon Dub System will take the P&G Music Stage at Fountain Square with a free concert that kicks off at 7:00 p.m.
The July 9 concert in Cincinnati is part of Zuvuloon Dub System’s 2014 Summer Tour. Other tour stops have included cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, and an upcoming stop in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Hailing from Tel Aviv, Zvuloon Dub System is known as Israel’s leading World-Reggae band. Stemming from a multicultural middle-eastern music scene, Zvuloon Dub System sings in English and Amharic. Formed in 2006 by the Smilan brothers, the 8 piece band is known to have some of the best Israeli underground musicians.
The band shares the same passion for roots reggae and dub, with influences from a variety of music styles, like Ethiopian jazz and rare grooves from the 70’s, USA's soul, funk and jazz, alongside with Israeli mizrahi (oriental) music.
