Sanchez (7-3) scattered three hits and overcame six walks. He struck out eight batters in the second-to-last game of the season for Albuquerque (75-68).
The Isotopes were able to take advantage of the Zephyrs' mistakes throughout the game.
Chili Buss struck out in the first inning and reached on a wild pitch. Eliezer Alfonzo followed with an RBI double to right field.
In the sixth inning, Damaso Espino and pinch hitter John Baker hit back-to-back RBI singles to make it 3-0.
New Orleans (72-71) nearly escaped the seventh inning but Alfonzo reached on a fielding error by third baseman Chris Valaika. Brian Barden then followed with a two-run homer to center field.
The Zephyrs finally got on the board in the seventh inning on Kevin Kouzmanoff's RBI single to right field. They would not seriously threaten again.
The Isotopes will finish their season Monday at noon.
