Our average high at Philly International Airport is 76 degrees; can you guess what our high was this afternoon? 76. Sunshine gave way to cumulus clouds in the afternoon and then some thunderstorms by the evening/holiday commute. They will continue to push eastward up until Midnight and then we'll have clearing.

Overnight lows will be in the middle 50s with clearing. On Saturday we'll have sunshine give way to clouds in the afternoon once we reach our convective temperature(the approximate temperature the surface must warm to in order for clouds to develop); once again we can see some isolated showers and strong thunderstorms pop up with highs in the lower 70s as the short wave trough pushes eastward.

Come Sunday we'll have a ridge of high pressure take control of the region; not only will we stay dry, but become very mild with highs in the upper 70s and then lower 80s come Memorial Day. On Tuesday we'll make a run toward the middle and upper 80s before a cold front pushes southward; we'll have a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms while behind the front temperatures will be back into the middle and upper 70s.

Have a SAFE weekend and be sure to check out the rest of the 7-day forecast(any time) at www.scottderekwx.com/forecast.html.
