Islip Town animal shelter employee suspected of dumping second dog

Michael Papini, 30, of Lindenhurst, Long Island may have dumped a second dog, and Suffolk County SPCA have offered a reward for the missing five-year-old cream colored poodle named Bailey according to their Facebook page. The announcement came on Saturday evening after prosecutors arrested Papini for allegedly dumping a Lhasa Apso into a garbage bin behind a local gas station earlier in the week

Papini has been suspended from his job at the Islip Town Animal Shelter pending an investigation into the charges and his subsequent arrest.

As part of an ongoing investigation, the Suffolk County SPCA, the dog was last seen on Cooper Street in Babylon Village on December 23.

A $500 reward has been offered for information on Bailey.

Papini has been charged with felony animal cruelty, two counts of animal abuse, two counts of criminal personation, and one count of petty larceny.

According to the, Papini's attorney, Mary Beth Abbate stated there has been no proof presented of her client being guilty.
