The New York Islanders are on a nine game losing streak after a 0-3 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday December 7th. The Islanders travel to the Honda Center tonight, December 9th, to face the Anaheim Ducks with hopes of gaining a positive momentum.
“We've got to find a way to win because this is unacceptable," stated Kyle Okposo when asked about tonight’s game and their previous lack of success.
The Islanders are without Lubomir Visnovsky (concussion), Brian Strait (upper body) and Evgeni Nabokov (groin). The injured netminder could possibly be ready to step into a back-up role come tomorrow night against the San Jose Sharks.
Tonight’s game will prove to be a difficult matchup as the Ducks have yet to lose at home during regulation time. The Islanders, who are 1-7-2 in their past ten games, will need to find the back of the net and clog up the shooting lanes if they want to get out of their current slump.
The puck will drop at 10:00 p.m. EST at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
