Island Sports Center's Shamrock Skate returns for twelfth year this March

The annual Shamrock Skate competition is returning to the Robert Morris University Island Sports Center on Saturday, March 23. This year’s competition marks the twelfth anniversary of this Ice Skating Institute (ISI)-endorsed competition that has grown to one of the most well-attended competitions in Pittsburgh with nearly 200 local competitors taking to the ice for the 2012 Shamrock Skate.

The 2013 Shamrock Skate will offer a variety of recreational ice skating events during this one-day competition, including freestyle 1-10 and open freestyle, stroking, spotlight and compulsory moves. Events for tots and learn-to-skate competitors will also be offered.

Any skater who is a current individual member of the ISI is eligible to compete. U.S. Figure Skating (USFS) members who also hold an individual membership with the ISI and have registered ISI tests with the organization’s national office may also compete per the ISI’s Joint Statement of Cooperation.
