The FDA was informed by Island Delights, Inc. that 492 bags of Coconut Haystack Candy are being recalled because of an undeclared allergen. This occurred when the packages were not labeled as containing milk.
With the allergen in assorted Island Delights Coconut Haystacks being milk, only those allergic to milk could have a serious reaction when consuming this product. Anyone not allergic to milk will not have a concern about the recalled Coconut Haystacks and the product is safe for them to eat.
To date there has been no report of an illness in connection with the recall of Island Delights the Coconut Haystacks candy. Consumers wanting to return the Coconut Haystacks may do so for a complete refund.

The recalled Island Delights Coconut Haystack candy were distributed to retail stores and through mail orders in Arizona, California, Florida, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, New York, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming. The distribution dates were between January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012. No other products are involved in this recall.
