Islam teaches Loyalty

Just like millions of Americans, American Muslims will also be celebrating the country’s Independence Day on Fourth of July to commemorate independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.

Ever since 9/11 there has been multiple terror plots by extremists to create disorder and chaos but, it was heartwarming to know that at the end of the day, they were all exposed just in time with the help of Muslim Americans who knew loyalty to their country demanded them to do the right thing.

While “Islamophobes” are trying hard to promote here in the U.S and also in Europe that Islam and the western society are incompatible, one Muslim sect is focused on putting its best foot forward in proving them wrong at every step of the way with actions that showcase love and loyalty for their country, wherever it might be on the map.

With the motto of “Love for all, hatred for none”, members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community take loyalty to their country of residence very seriously and consider it a religious obligation. As the revivalist movement within Islam, the Ahmadi Muslims are believers in Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian as the promised Messiah and reformer of latter days who came to revive Islam to its pristine form, to end bloodshed and to promote peace and harmony.

Having its presence in more than 200 hundred countries worldwide, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, is a firm believer in the Quranic teaching, “O ye who believe, obey God and obey the Prophet and obey those in authority from among you”(4:60), regardless of the ruler’s faith. This is why under the guidance of its leadership the community has been able to build more than 15,000 mosques, more than 500 schools, and more than 30 hospitals across the globe.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, USA was established in around 1929, making it one of the oldest Muslim organizations in the country. In the last decade or so, with the hate crimes against Muslims on the rise, there was a need felt by its leadership to educate locals about the peaceful teachings of Islam including that it teaches loyalty. Hence, the “Muslims for Loyalty” campaign was launched across the nation.

Earlier this month, more than 250 Ahmadi Muslim youth visited Capitol Hill to seek support from fifty members of congress in their effort to end hunger in our country where 50 million are struggling to put food on the table. After the meeting, the group took part in its annual “Walk for Humanity” in the streets of Washington D.C to raise awareness and with the aim to raise more than $100,000 this year for this cause.

In addition to hosting multiple “Muhammad, Messenger of Peace” conferences and other interfaith events to promote interfaith understanding, the community has helped collect more than 33,000 pints of blood by organizing 906 blood drives under the “Muslims for Life” campaign with the potential of saving 100,000 American lives in just last three years.

In the U.K., where the current international headquarter is located and the Ahmadi Muslim Khalifa resides, a group of 25 cyclists recently raised 100,000 pounds for charity under its “Ride for Peace” initiative while debunking the stereotypes about Muslims.

Just like last year, Ahmadi Muslims from Georgia Chapter will be giving away refreshments and American flags to Peachtree Road race runners while fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

In short, the present Worldwide Spiritual Leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, his Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad has stated, “As citizens of any country, we Ahmadi Muslims, will always show absolute love and loyalty to the State. Every Ahmadi Muslim has a desire for his chosen country to excel and should always endeavor towards this objective. Whenever a country requires its citizens to make sacrifices the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat will always be ready to bear such sacrifices for the sake of the nation”.
