Isla Fisher seems to be everywhere right now. With her new movie Confessions of a Shopaholic released on Friday the 13th, America had better get ready for this pint sized dynamo. She might be adorable and a true beauty but from her article in Allure magazine, she’s got a wicked sense of humor as well. That would almost have to be a given as the fiancé of Sacha Baron Cohen and being cast alongside the likes of Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. We love a girl that’s gorgeous and can make fun of herself at the same time. That ability leads you to believe that she doesn’t take things like fame too seriously.
Isla’s most recent outing was for the U.K. premiere of her new movie. She looked great. Her hair was not too fussy with her normal long cascading mane but her makeup was more dramatic to fit that classic little black dress. The dark liner and mascara really brought focus to her eyes on her pale skin. She kept the rest of the face clean and neutral to help in offsetting the eyes. Although her lip color was a very easy mauve shade, it was not uninteresting and complemented the overall look well.
For the New York premiere of the movie, Isla’s stylist straightened her hair and probably used a product that provides a shine and some texture. I loved this style on her and it would be easy for you to imitate with the correct length and a straightening iron. After shampooing, add mousse or your favorite styling product as usual. Blow dry upside down for volume smoothing out the ends when almost dry with a large round brush. It would be helpful to section off some of your hair and do a little at a time to make it more manageable with the iron. By this I mean taking the time to start at the nape of the neck and clipping up the rest of the hair to get an overall consistent look. Take the straightening iron and start at the root slowly pulling each section through to get the desired affect. If done correctly, you probably won’t need to do much afterward with the exception of some shine pomade and maybe some very light spray. This style should have a lot of movement so don’t weigh it down with too much product.
I, for one, can’t wait to see Confessions of a Shopaholic. It’ll definitely be with girlfriends. Hope you enjoy…
