If you are in Oconee County, S.C., you can thank Invisible Fence Brand for donating enough pet oxygen mask kits to equip all fire departments in the county with the live saving equipment for pets.

According to the Oconee County Fire Department website, the kits were presented to the Oconee County Emergency Services on October 31, 2013. The website states:

County Fire Marshal Shane Gibbs said emergency services applied to have the masks donated. “People cherish their pets,” he said. “We treat people and we should treat pets just as we treat people. We should at least make an effort.”

The press release from the department estimated that up to 150,000 pets die in house fires each year. Thanks to this donation of 17 kits, enough to equip all fire stations in the county with the equipment, pets in Oconee County are a little safer.
