In one of the best side effects of the government shutting down today, the youth of America now believes that weed is legal and they can’t stop tweeting about it.
In the most important controversy brought on by arguments between Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill, people across the country are asking their peers and the Twitterverse if the government shutdown means are they now able to smoke weed freely and without consequence.
@liviannne “So apparently since the government is shut down weed is legal and so is drinking under 21? At least that's what I heard.”
@jassytho “does that mean weed is legal now that the united states is now a completely lawless wasteland?”
@SwerveVic_BDS “My sociology professor is asking his students for weed. Since there's no government, that sh*ts legal 😂😂 #soc119”
The answer is of course a definitive no; it’s still illegal in 48 states. Obviously they do not understand the concept of a non-essential government shutdown which really speaks volumes to the education in our country. Never underestimate those willing to incriminate themselves on social media.
Not only do they believe weed is legal but according to E! News they believe that Obama is no longer president, they don’t have to go to work today, they don’t need to pay rent, looting is their god given right because no one is working to arrest them, Russia will be invading soon and everyone is going to die.
A note to those disaffected youths on Twitter, please spend the rest of the day thinking how you will improve yourself now to become the future leaders of these United States; to everyone else be very afraid.
