Welterweight contender Victor Ortiz once went round and round with Floyd Mayweather but didn’t fare so well. Now he is reportedly going to appear on season 16 of “Dancing with the Stars,” according to the Bad Left Hook website on Feb. 11.
Ortiz will be following in Mayweather’s footsteps there, too, as Floyd appeared on the reality dance show in season 5. Mayweather was voted off the show in the fourth week during his run for the mirror ball trophy.
The 25-year-old boxer has poise and charm and is a favorite among fans. With several welterweight championships under his belt, he has the self-discipline and drive to be a competitor.
Other boxers who have appeared on the show include Laila Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Evander Holyfield and Mayweather. Ali appeared in season four and finished third. Holyfield appeared in season one and finished fifth out of six couples. Leonard appeared in season twelve and finished in ninth place.
If Ortiz does appear on “Dancing with the Stars,” do you think he will fare better than his boxing predecessors?
