This wonderful country of the United States of America was founded over 200 years ago and the founding fathers wrote up a constitution based on the bible and Christian ethics for the country by which to live.
To make a long story short, the condition today of the United States is so far away from the original beginning that if you were someone who was born and raised in this country during its beginnings, moved away and was able to transport yourself to come back today, you would not recognize it!
Bill O’Reilly clashes with an atheist over the President using the bible when he is sworn into office. Twenty years ago a debate such as this never would have taken place! This is one example of how fast our country is changing.
“The tradition of the President taking his oath of office with his hand on a Bible was first begun by George Washington during his first inauguration. Some Presidents have opened the Bible to a random page (like George Washington in 1789 and Abraham Lincoln in 1861) while most others have opened the Bible to a specific page because of a meaningful verse. Of course, there is always the option to keep the Bible closed like Harry Truman did in 1945 and John F. Kennedy in 1961. Some Presidents even had two Bibles (with either both opened to the same verse or two different verses), while only one President refrained from using a Bible at all (Theodore Roosevelt in 1901).”
Each generation becomes more narcissistic. Those in the minority demand their rights over the majority.
Examples of how our country is drastically changing and losing its values:
- Controversy over the bible being read at the president’s inauguration.
- Sports figures/heroes caught lying
- Same sex marriages okay ed
- Homosexuality taught in some schools
- Birth control and abortion rights for employees by employers mandated by the government
- The constitution and the 2nd amendment being challenged
- Illegal drugs okay ed in some states
We will go through each of these subjects, discuss them and see what God and the bible has to say about each one of them!
