The Real Housewives of New York City” has had a lot of drama in Season 6, but fans aren't liking where things are headed. This season has seen Ramona attack Kristen, Sonja getting completely wasted, and Aviva's father get engaged to a 20-something young woman. When the show debuted in 2008, fans ate it up. Six years later things just aren't going as well. According to a June 6 report from The Hollywood Gossip, “The Real Housewives of New York City” is on the verge of cancellation. Fans aren't shocked about the news.

Season 6 has been plagued with bad things. Ramona attacked newbie Kristen Taekman twice over silly things. There has been plenty of public outcry for Bravo to fire Ramona, but no comment has been made by the network. In the most recent episode, fans watched as Aviva's father brought his girlfriend to meet the ladies. He proposed to the 25-year-old, and she accepted.

The Twitter feed for hashtag “RHONY” has been buzzing since the show aired Tuesday night. Fans are all talking about the trip to Saratoga and Sonja's drunken stupor. Comments about Aviva's father are also plaguing the feed. Speculation is that the proposal and sex talk were last stitch efforts to boost “The Real Housewives of New York City” ratings.

Ratings for “The Real Housewives of New York City” have dropped considerably in Season 6. The latest episode only garnered just over one million views, which is incredibly low for a Bravo show of this caliber. Perhaps if the network listened to the fans and took some action with Ramona, things may turn around. Kristen Taekman is liked by fans, even as the newbie. A cast shakeup may be the answer to declining ratings and possibly the only way to get a Season 7 in the works.
