Is the Obama administration fueling the fires of Mideast unrest?

I was shocked when Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said last week that  he “believes there is a strong likelihood that Israel will strike Iran in April, May or June---before Iran enters what Israelis described as a ‘zone of immunity’ to commence building a nuclear bomb.”

Israel, a country within 8,000 square miles with a population just under 6 million Jews is surrounded by 5,120,000 square miles of Muslim country harboring 270 million Muslims.  Israel has been continually threatened over the years, the latest being a threat from Iran.

In July of 2011, Mohammad Karami Raad, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said: "If Israel embarks on committing a mistake against us, we will destroy Tel Aviv, and Israel will have from 2 to 3 million refugees in the very first moment". His remarks were carried by the state-run news agency Fars.

Highlighting Iran’s missile power Karami Raad went onto say: "The world is now aware that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a big missile power in the Middle-East region and we are ready to confront any kind of aggression."

Recalling Panetta remarks reminds me of having married neighbors; the husband is big and abusive and threatens to kill the wife, and  the wife just doesn’t want to put up with the threats anymore.  She’s thinking of leaving him. However, what would happen if I took the husband aside and told him that the wife was thinking of leaving?  It would embolden and anger the husband and perhaps place the wife in danger.  Isn’t this what could happen if Iran is warned of an impending threat, particularly after Iran announced their intention if threatened.

Additionally, Senator Dianne Feinstein threw out a bombshell recently during an annual threat assessment hearing held by the Senate Intelligence Committee; the subject was Iran.  Did Senator Dianne Feinstein expose too much when she mentioned that Israel’s Intelligence service head of  Massad, Tamir Pardo, had met with her and CIA Director David Petraeus?

She said that the” public deserves to know what inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency uncover in their examination of Iran’s nuclear program”.   Really?  Why is that Senator? The Director of National Intelligence, James R. Clapper, warned that Iran now seems willing to launch a retaliatory terrorist attacks inside the United States.

I ask again, “so why enrage Iran further”?  Shouldn’t they be the target of a preemptive attack without warning them in order to prevent attacks on the United States and Israel?

A fatwa by the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini on, February 2,  made it clear that any political domination by infidels over Muslims authorizes Muslims to defend Islam by all means. Iran now has the ICBM means to deliver destruction on Israel and soon will have nuclear warheads for those missiles. In order to attack Iran,  Israel needs the approval and assistance of America, and under the current passive climate of the Obama administration, a lack of support for Israel could further emboldern Iran.  If America isn’t willing to assist Israel, isn’t it leaving Israel out in the cold to fend for itself while announcing their intentions to its enemies?

Recently, Israel has warned U.S. Jews that Iran could strike in the United States.  Facilities like embassies and consulates, synagogues, schools and community centers are under alert.

How will the United States react if Iran strikes Jewish institutions in the United States?  Does Obama have a plan for Israeli peace, or are Panetta and Obama fueling the fires of Mideast unrest.
