It looks like the second generation iPad mini may be coming sooner than was originally thought. We knew there would be a second generation, but maybe not quite this early. According to CNET on Dec. 18, it seems Apple may be moving up the introduction of the next iPad mini.
Doug Freedman, who is a RBC Capital Markets analyst, stated the following while in China visiting chip companies:
"iPad Mini Gen-2: Apple's gen-2 iPad mini is getting pulled-in, and is likely to have several new suppliers, with TXN gaining content."
This seems to be a fast move for Apple considering the iPad mini is still in demand due to a supply shortage. How could Apple be thinking of the next iPad mini when the current one is still so hard to find?
There have already been rumors of Apple upgrading the iPad mini display so that it would be a little closer to the Retina display that is already on the current iPad and iPhone 5.
Apple still has not released the iPad mini to all the countries yet, so if the rumors are true is yet to be seen. Apple is known for doing things differently as of lately so anything is really possible.
