Is "Teen Mom 2" being cancelled and will MTV still air the already-filmed season 4? Those are among the two burning questions today (Wednesday) after a report claims the network is close to cancelling the controversial series fearing Jenelle Evans' on-going issues are becoming a "liability" for the network. In a statement to Examiner.com, an MTV spokesperson addresses the recent rumors about "Teen Mom 2" ending.
"No decision has been made yet regarding a fifth season of 'Teen Mom 2,' but the network is planning to air the fourth season this year and will announce the premiere date soon."
In a Jan., 29 report, the New York Post blames "erratic headline-grabbing behavior by loose-cannon Jenelle Evans" for leading the network to seriously consider ending the show. As Examiner.com previously reported, last week Jenelle went on a Twitter rant against her husband of 51 days accusing him of cheating and going out of a town while she was having a miscarriage. The following day she gave near-constant updates about her seven-week pregnancy ending. Hours later she reportedly claimed to be at a bar with her ex.

The Twitter rants capped off three months of outrageous antics by the 21-year-old North Carolina mom. Now insiders say her controversial and explosive behavior is even too much for MTV and "Teen Mom" producers which are no stranger to having its "Teen Mom" stars behind bars, in rehab, and facing allegations of abuse.
"Teen Mom 2" is a spinoff of MTV's original "Teen Mom." That series ended its run in October 2012.
