The question is: did Kristen Stewart ever really have a chance at an Oscar?

Romina Massa, also the West Palm Beach Television Examiner, may be over twenty, but she is not too old to be forever young (yet). Furthermore, she likes to know which movies the young ones are watching these days, in the hopes of figuring out what (and who!) motivates and inspires them. After all...
i'm a huge fan of Kristen, but a lot of her fans overtalk her performances since they ahven't even seen them. Kristen is a great actress, I think she has it in her to get an Oscar nom at some point, but she will have to find the right role to get that opportunity. Yellow H. is not that role, WWTR probably isn't either. The only one at the moment that shows possible potential is "american girl." Even then, that's james woods saying it's oscar material and hes' the guy trying to get the movie made. lol Stewie's got it in her-she just has to get the right part to shine in. And remember-there's many actresses out there more deserving than some oscar winners, they just haven't had the opportunity yet either. Kristen's only 19, she has a lot of time on her hands to get a nom one day.
Kristen is a goddess, and I have no doubt one day she will be nominated. She's young though, why are people pushing for her to have a nomination for movies that can't eve be considered?
omg, I hate people doing this, where they try to push young talent to peak too early. Who cares about an oscar nom, when you win your career always seems to go downhill for somet reason. I just want to see kristen nurture her craft and take chances and learn and grow. She's got amazing raw talent--now is the time for her to mold that talent and harness it for later years.
kristen is naturally talented. you can watch twilight and see how has the acting bug naturally. kristen. mike welch. billy burke. anna kendrick. I think eventually she will get a nom as long as she takes fearless roles and challenges herself.
First let me say that I like Kristen Stewart and think that she has great potential, but just the bit I have seen of the yellow handkerchief shows me that she's not ready for such accolades, yet. Oscar noms should be given to people who's performance is a complete separation of themselves as a personality. I am afraid that right now she is portraying her characters as the same character. If she can step away from the lip biting and the insecure young girl trying to compensate by being a tough broad bit and really step outside of herself then she will surely score an oscar. She is on the cusp of greatness.
I really think that one day Kristen will win an Oscar (or several). She's still young and she is a great actriss. I loved her on "Adventureland" and "Cake Eaters", which are the kind of films few people watch. I'm a big fan of Kristen's work.
She doesn't have the talent to be nominated much less win. She's counting on her 8 year old fans to back her up but that won't be enough. If she plays a druggie then maybe she would win because that isl her natural state. Either she stoned or on cocaine.
To be perfectly honest I have no issue with her, however I find her acting bland. Each role I have seen her in she has the same acting. It's like one flavour, vanilla, that's it. Somewhat boring after a while.
People have said she is amazing, sorry but someone like Dakota Fanning is amazing. I saw Dakota Fanning in Push and was amazed - she has more talent and diversity at such a young age than most actress decades older than her.
Kristen Stewart is not talentless in my opinion, just not as great as people say. They need to disconnect her character in Twilight from her.
Just my meager opinion :)
I don't think Kristen deserves an Oscar. Her Acting is annoying. Lipbiting and looking confused just doesn't do it. But she is young and maybe she'll come around.

The Yellow Handkerchief is not eligible to win any Academy Awards, so even if it is believed that Kristen is "ready" to win one, it doesn't matter.

No, I don't think this performance is Oscar worthy. Maybe she'll get one someday, but she's not there yet.
