Divorce is never a good thing for a young child, but is Suri Cruise the biggest winner in that she gets to be with her mother and avoids a taxing court battle? Remember when Tom Cruise jumped on the couch to announce his love for Katie Holmes? Well, now that they have settled the case amicably, should he jump again?
Actually, Suri is the one who should be doing the jumping. . . mayber not now, but definitely in a few years.
TMZ.com reports that the settlement took place in a manner of days. The site quotes Katie's lawyer--"This case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life."
There will be no drawn out legal battles and that is good for everybody. Apparently Katie will get custody of Suri in New York and TMZ further reports that Tom will have "meaningful, significant contact with Suri."
The other financial terms of the settlement agreement are not revealed at this time.
In recent pictures, there is an undeniable bond between mother and daughter, but Tom will still be part of her life.
Numerous sources have reported that Katie has revealed that Suri picks out her clothes for her. If Madonna's daughter Lourdes has her own clothing line while still a minor, it is a given that Suri will have her own line in a few years. It is unknown if the agreement covers such a contingency.
The Olson twins had a business empire in their teens, I will make this prediction... by the time she's eighteen, Suri Cruise will be far more successful than both Olsen twins put together.
And that jump on the couch to stardom started today. . .
